Rising up from the Civil War in St. Louis, Missouri, the “Hotze” company became synonymous with the world’s best saddles. The saddle industry, however, did not last forever. As quickly as the automobile reduced the need for saddles, the Hotze family applied its knowledge of leather and craftsmanship in a new direction, becoming one of America’s first families of golf bags.

Relocating in 1957 to its current facility in Pocahontas, Ark., Hot-Z continued its history of quality and innovation including the first bag company to use injection-molded plastic for a stronger bag base. By 1975, Hot-Z was selling nearly 50% of all the golf bags sold in the U.S. Hot-Z was also the first to introduce custom embroidering to its golf bags, adding flair and styling to its men’s cart bag, men’s stand bags, and all ladies’ bags.
