The saddle industry, however, did not last forever. As quickly as the automobile reduced the need for saddles, the Hotze family applied its knowledge of leather and craftsmanship in a new direction, becoming one of America’s first families of golf bags.
Relocating in 1957 to its current facility in Pocahontas, Ark., Hot-Z continued its history of quality and innovation including the first bag company to use injection-molded plastic for a stronger bag base. By 1975, Hot-Z was selling nearly 50% of all the golf bags sold in the U.S. Hot-Z was also the first to introduce custom embroidering to its golf bags, adding flair and styling to its men’s cart bag, men’s stand bags, and all ladies’ bags.
